Wentworth, NC – A new scholarship funded by Mountain Valley Pipeline will be available in the 2026-27 school year to benefit a Rockingham County student enrolled at Rockingham Community College.
The MVP Scholarship will provide financial assistance to a qualifying full-time student to be selected by the RCC Financial Aid Office under terms of the scholarship. The MVP Scholarship at RCC builds on Mountain Valley’s ongoing efforts to support local educational opportunities, including:
- A similar scholarship at Danville Community College,
- Contributions of large diameter pipe to the DCC and RCC welding programs, and
- Funding for the Eden Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s scholarships for graduating Morehead High School seniors.
“We appreciate Mountain Valley’s generous gift and commitment to being a good community partner,” said Paul Farrar, executive director of the Rockingham Community College Foundation. “The MVP Scholarship will help ensure local students can pursue their dreams of higher education at Rockingham Community College for years to come.”
